Suicide Webinar

ree

Did you know that 12 Canadians per day die from suicide? That is 4500 per year. Not only that, but 12% (over 4 million people) of the population of Canada have thought about it and 3.1% (over 1 million people) have attempted it. In 2017, it was the 9th leading cause of death in Canada. Yet no one talks about it.

Those who contemplate it suffer in silence, feeling like their voice doesn't matter, and no one wants to hear the pain they are going through. The secrecy and the silence hold them captive, unable to break free. How do I know? I was one of these people. I know how it felt. I understand not talking about it. There is such a stigma about it, and people are scared to bring it into the light. However, did you know that talking about it and bringing it into the light is actually what may stop it from happening?

We need to normalize talking about it and take the stigma out of it. Sitcoms from when I was young would actually address suicide, while shows these days rarely touch this topic. Join us on August 7 @ 7pm as we talk about suicide in our upcoming webinar, it could save the life of a family member, friend or maybe even your own. Register by clicking the button below.
