Walter Blackwood
Walter Blackwood and his loving wife of thirteen years have three cats Zoey, Rylie and Leo. He has been focused on childcare over the past 5 years and through this experience has gained more understanding of how children process their world and their environment. He also had the opportunity to come alongside the parents of these children and work with them to come up with strategies to see them thrive.
Walter's Story
I have lived an interesting life. Growing up in a single parent household is never easy, when you add addiction and an ever changing environment to the mix it becomes even more difficult. The one thing my mother taught me which I will never forget is "family first". Even in the midst of her struggles she always supported me.
In school I faced bullying from my peers. Many days I had to be inventive to make my way home without incident. More times than I care to mention I found myself beaten up and dragging myself home. Struggling against depression became an everyday battle, one I lost more than won.
I found myself searching for meaning in life, a search that lead me into the occult and eventually into wicca where I spent most of my twenties. Exploring the occult I became bisexual, aggressive and ultimately lost, that was, until God found me in the depths of my despair. My encounter with Jesus changed me and my life forever, leading me to the life I now treasure. I use my varied life experience to serve God's kingdom and the calling he has for me. My life has felt full ever since.
