Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What is the 100 Pledge Project?
Answer: The 100 Pledge Project is a fundraiser that makes it possible for anyone to participate with
pledge amounts ranging from $1 to $100.
Question: What does the money raised go towards?
Answer: The funds raised goes towards several things:
1. Meeting practical needs of those we help.
2. Mentors, since we offer our mentoring services at no cost to make it accessible for those who need it.
3. Funding outreach and events such as a women's retreat for women on the verge of burnout.
Question: What areas do we focus on?
Answer: We have mentors that specialize in anxiety, depression, suicide, self-esteem, self-loathing, sexual trauma, marriage issues, miscarriage, burnout, financial challenges and trauma. We feel it is important to have women mentor other women and men mentor men, which is why we have both men and women mentors on our team. We are looking to expand our team as we would like to offer areas in every area of struggle such as addiction, homelessness, eating disorders, self-harm, and occult. We will be offering training for new mentors, if you feel led to become a mentor of others in areas you have overcome, contact us and you can apply for our next Mentor Training.
Question: Who do we help?
Answer: We help those who are struggling alone and are ready to do the work of healing. Those who are determined to find wholeness. If you are comfortable in your pain and would rather stay where you are than heal and grow then we are not the right fit for you. We want to help those who want to find lasting healing and freedom in their lives.
Question: What is it that we do?
Answer: We offer one-on-one mentoring and group mentoring. We host monthly webinars building community and dealing with issues many of us face. Other events like retreats and camps are in the works. We also endeavour to have online courses and training available soon.
Question: What is your vision and mission?
Answer: Our mission is to offer support, resources and opportunities for healing to those struggling with mental health issues. We achieve this through group mentoring sessions, one-on-one mentoring sessions and offering courses that can be done at one's own pace to find freedom. Our vision is to see mental health wards in hospitals empty. There is a crisis of mental health, that often leads to suicide, homelessness, or addictions. We aim to change these statistics one person at a time. If we can help bring freedom to one person it will trickle down for many generations. We often find that the brokenness we see in those we help have been passed down for generations. It is time to break the cycle and bring freedom. This crisis can change and it is our mission to help as many people as we can.
Question: How much do our service cost?
Answer: All our mentoring services are at no charge. All our programs and mentors are funded through private donors, fundraising and other initiatives.
Question: What are your plans for the future?
Answer: We hope to have a NOSA Foundation Gala in the future to raise awareness for what we do, raise funds for our programs with a catered meal and silent auction. We plan on having retreats at least once per year. Online courses will be available soon. In the future we would like to create NOSA Headquarters for in person mentoring, courses, training, and community programs, with on site coffee shop and gift store that all proceeds go directly back into NOSA Foundation to fund these programs. We will also be growing our team of mentors so that we can help as many people find freedom as possible. The Ultimate Dream is to see the mental health wards of hospitals empty.
Question: How can people get involved?
Answer: 1. Join the prayer team, praying for those needing supports, for our team of mentors and for NOSA Foundation.
2. If you are in need of support, reach out and we would love to get you connected with mentors to walk alongside you.
3. Sponsor those needing supports by contributing financially with a one-time gift, becoming a monthly partner or sponsorships.
4. Volunteer for our live in person events.
5. Become a mentor.
6. Support us by engaging and sharing on your social media.
Question: Are we able to get charitable receipts?
Answer: Unfortunately, we are not able to issue charitable receipts, since we do not have a charity designation.
Question: How do I access your services?
Answer: You can book a session with our online booking system. Go to the home page and click on the link to book a mentoring session. Webinars and podcasts can be found on the resources page. If you have any other inquiries or want to be involved in another way go to our contact page and fill out the contact form.
Question: Why mentorship vs. counselling?
Answer: Both are valuable and have their place. The focus of Mentorship is a long term journey. It is not intended for you to come and get tools and then journey alone. The role of a mentor is to journey with you. It is a commitment to walk with you to see you get to the other side of what you are going through. Success can be gained much easier when someone walks with us to motivate us, challenge us, encourage us and keep us accountable to the changes we want to make.
